The Kite, Part 1

One day, Bun was walking along...

...and heading for the park to meet Binky and Finky with a kite under her arm (er, nubbin). She was very excited, because it was a windy day and she had never flown a kite before, and Binky and Finky had informed her that it was easy to do.

Teeny Tiny Teddybun and Pink Teddybun had come along for the ride. Teeny Tiny Teddybun was stuck in Bun's ribbon, and Pink Teddybun was riding between her ears. They were secretly hoping that Bun would let them ride on the kite, but they didn't say anything about it yet.

"Dere dey are!" Bun announced, and hopped towards her two friends, who were sitting at the top of the slide, waiting for her.

"Hyellyo!" Finky called, and slid down. Binky slid after her, and they landed in a heap at the bottom of the slide. "We're cyoming!" Binky added.

The bunnies all went to a large, open, grassy place near the playground. "Thyis is pyerfect," Binky said, rather knowingly. She surveyed the area. "Nyow, we nyeed to gyet the kyite in the skye. Hyere, Byun, you hyold the strying, and Fyinky and I will ryun with it." Bun did as they said, but she was a little scared that she might do something wrong.

"Oh boh," she said nervously.

Normally, flying a kite is not a very dangerous activity, and you could usually count on coming away from a kite-flying session with your life. But this time, Bun had a reason to be nervous. What she didn't know was that Pink Teddybun and her comrade, Teeny Tiny Teddybun, had grabbed onto the cross-pieces of the kite and were hanging on, ready to be launched in to the air.

"Thyis is going to be fyun," Pink Teddybun said in gleeful anticipation.
